Number 8 is approx. 200 metres from the footpath, which runs through the Parish Wood that leads to the Cleveland way, a 10 minute walk away.  This pleasant walk takes in a wide variety of habitats, coastal woodland, wild flower meadow & rough grazed pasture.  At the top of the  footpath you will see the cliffs, on the sea coast, where sea birds nest & perch. For the adventurous explorer, turn left & walk to Scarborough & beyond, even to Helmsley, 108 miles away!! Those just requiring a short, picturesque walk can turn right & walk down to the stunning Filey Bay.

Filey is an ideal destination for couples & families alike. Traditional beach based activities  such as sun bathing, swimming, surfing & ball games are popular on the 5 miles of  sandy beach. Exploring  the rock pools & watching the world go  by are equally enjoyable passtimes.  In addition , you may wish to watch the fishing fleet & visit the Lifeboat station on the Coble Landing. Walking, bird watching, fishing & golfing are very popular pursuits in this area. Anglers can be seen casting their rods from Filey promenade & off the rocks at Carr Naze & Filey Brigg.
